Orient manager Fabio Liverani wants his side to build on their first home in 2015 and make Brisbane Road a difficult place for opponents to play in their battle against relegation.

The O's boosted their hopes of avoiding the drop after a 3-0 win over Oldham Athletic this afternoon to end their four-match losing run at home.

Liverani, speaking via a translator, said: "It was a great thing to win again at home after such a long time. Hopefully it's just the start because we have a lot of games to play at home and this ground has to be somewhere where the other team struggles to get points."

The hosts opened the scoring through Italian Andrea Dossena's first goal for the club and Liverani believes it was crucial Orient took the lead and the difference compared to recent home defeats.

Liverani, who was boosted by the return from injury of Jobi McAnuff and goalscorer Jay Simpson, said: "I'm very pleased with the performance and result.

"Today was a game where, unlike on other occasions, we scored first and that made a difference because it boosted the mood of the players and gave us an advantage.

"Finishing the first half 2-0 up was very important even if there were situations in the game where we struggled a bit and had to make sacrifices. But we did well and recovered injured players so it was very good today."

Orient remain second bottom in League One but the O's are only two points off fourth bottom Colchester United.
