Leyton Orient captain Nathan Clarke has joined Bradford City on a one-year deal.

The centre-back decided to leave the O's because he wanted to move back up north with his family.

Clarke made 131 appearances over three seasons for Orient but new head coach Ian Hendon agreed to let the defender leave.

Hendon told the club website: "I would have liked to have worked with Clarkey but due to his personal reasons he has decided that he needed to leave the club and has now gone to pastures new at Bradford. I would like to wish him all the best for the future."

The O's have moved quickly in the last day to replace him signing defenders Alan Dunne, Connor Essam and Frazer Shaw.
