A boxing promoter from Waltham Abbey who claims to be the youngest in the country will begin and end a fleeting professional career next weekend with a one-off bout.
Billy James-Elliott, 18, will return to the ring in a professional capacity for the first time in his own ‘Lords of the Ring 2’ show at York Hall, on Saturday, August 29.
The welterweight already claims to be the youngest boxing promoter in the country but is now juggling that with preparing for a tussle against Irish fighter Danny Summers.
James-Elliott said: “From having numerous fights when I was younger I have decided to go back in the ring one more time. I went into this one to push ticket sales up a bit more.
“I am a good boxer, without being big-headed, and I am quicker than him but this is someone who is 4-0; he should be a big challenge.”
How has he found the challenge of training and planning the show?
“It has been very hard," he said.
“I am up for training first thing in the morning and then working until last thing at night.
“You never lose the technique; it’s just getting sharp again.”
