Turgut Esendagli’s first game back in charge of Waltham Forest after succeeding Terry Forgarty ended in a 3-2 win at London Bari on Saturday.

The Essex Senior League strugglers took the decision to remove Fogarty – himself only appointed in the summer – last week and were immediately rewarded with just a second league win of the season.

Roy Jones gave visiting Forest the lead after just 45 seconds but Tony Cookey levelled for tenth-placed Bari midway through the first period.

Miguel Lopes de Matos restored the visitors' lead, though, sending a free-kick through the legs of the Bari keeper to claim his first goal of the season.

Cookey again dragged the home side level but Jose Agua ensured Esendagli's second stint at the helm would begin with victory by netting the winner with a well-taken effort.

Forest remain second bottom, tied with Enfield 1893 on just seven points from 17 games. They go to Hullbridge Sports on Saturday looking to close the three-point gap on Newham, the side directly above them.
