New Leyton Orient signing Jean-Yves M’Voto insists he is not worried about the future beyond his two-month deal at the club.

The experienced former Barnsley centre-back joined the O's on Saturday in a short-term deal and has impressed during his two appearances this week.

But the Frenchman insists the two-month deal suits both himself and the club as he focuses on helping his new side mount a promotion challenge.

M'Voto said: "It's a mutual decision. They wanted to assess me to see if I was good enough and I just need to prove myself. I think it's a good thing they did what they have because I need to play and the team needed a defender so here I am.

"Right now I just want the team to do well. We're in a good position but I think the way we played [at Plymouth] proved we can be higher. I don't want to think too much about what's going to happen in two or three months.

"I just want to think about what's going to happen on Saturday and then the following Saturday. After that it's up to the decision of the owner. I'm just there to play and do my best for the team. That's all I can do."

M’Voto was brought up in Paris and his family live in the city leaving the defender personally affected by the recent terrorist attacks in France.

He said: "I'm French and lived in Paris. My family was fine but I know it was bad because I used to live there actually when I was younger.

"It was bad for the people who suffered this attack. It's not nice what happened and we have to stick together and hopefully it is going to go away soon.

"I'm very moved by it. Paris and France is affected by immigration so to do this is not very nice. I was born in France but I'm not very French. But I feel French because I lived there.

"France is a country with all cultures so it's not just about one type of people. It's about everyone together so when you see this it's not very nice because we need to take care of it and get back to normality."
