Olympic silver medallist Mark Cavendish will be back on the road next month after being confirmed to compete at the Tour of Britain.
Cavendish, who won a track cycling medal at the Rio Olympics in the omnium, is Britain's record Tour de France stage winner and will ride alongside another top sprinter Andre Greipel and former world hour record holder Rohan Dennis.
Cavendish, who has a property in Ongar and is from the Isle of Man, has won 30 Tour de France stages and a further 10 in the British equivalent. Race organisers announced he will be part of Team Dimension Data alongside Steve Cummings, who won the seventh stage of the Tour de France earlier this summer.
The seven-day race begins in Glasgow on September 4 and concludes in London a week later. The race will form part of Cavendish's preparations for the World Road Race Championships in Qatar in October.
