Tom Parkes looked devastated after Leyton Orient’s latest home defeat in a long line after Blackpool won 2-1 at Brisbane Road on Saturday.

The defeat, which came courtesy of goals from Jamille Matt and Tom Aldred, means Orient have won just one of their home league games this season.

The defender admitted he felt he was at fault for the second goal and could not answer why the O’s do not seem to be able to click at Brisbane Road.

“I hate to say this, but I have looked back at it; from my point of view he has not scored himself and it has come off my hand,” Parkes explained.

“It is disappointing that we have lost again, especially being at home. It is too many losses, one after another, and we have got to focus on coming here and trying to turn that around.

“I don’t know [why Orient struggle to win at home], I can’t answer that.

“We are losing at home and when we go to other clubs it is one of their strengths to play at home and we are disappointed with the way it has gone.”

Parkes retains his confidence in the squad and says a run of improved form both at home and away would help lift the O’s.

He said: “Listen, this team we have got is a strong squad and all that is happening at the moment is we are underachieving.” he explained.

“We need to get a few more wins under our belt and hopefully get a bit more confidence in ourselves and we can go from there.”
