More than 100,000 tickets went on sale today for next year’s IAAF World Championships in London at the former Olympic Stadium.

Already half a million tickets have been sold for the event, which runs from August 4-13, and the latest batch is available on a first come, first served basis.

Tickets are available for all sessions, including Usain Bolt in the 100m final and Mo Farah in the 10,000m final, starting at £20 for adults and £9.58 for children, a salute to Bolt’s world record time for the 100m.

Championship director Niels de Vos said: "More than half a million tickets have been sold for the championships but we're determined to make it a complete sell-out.

"We've already sold more than any previous championships and we know we can recreate those amazing moments from London 2012 once more.

"This is a great opportunity to experience a packed stadium and some amazing sport, and we're thrilled with the response so far."

A limited number of tickets are for sale due to not all tickets being sold in the ballot and some being released back for sale due to failed customer payments.
