Kevin Nolan is close to agreeing on a deal to become manager of Notts County according to Sky Sports.

Couty sacked John Sheridan after a run of nine successive defeats at the beginning of January.

The former Oldham and Chesterfield boss won just six of his 24 league games.

Nolan had a brief spell in management when he took charge of Leyton Orient last season.

The 34-year-old has confirmed his desire to get back into football.

He managed just 15 games at Brisbane Road seven wins, six losses before he was demoted to a playing role.

County current sit just a point above the drop zone and are still looking for a new owner to buy the club.
