Jordan Bowery is set to join Crewe Alexandra on loan from Leyton Orient until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old was set to undergo a medical this morning and if the deal goes through is expected to go ahead, later on, today.

In summer 2016 Orient signed the former Oxford United player on a two-year deal with an option for an extra 12 months.

But he has managed just one goal in 20 appearances for Crewe’s fellow strugglers.

If Bowery does leave the club it will leave Orient with only Paul McCallum and Ollie Palmer as the senior forward players.

This news comes after it was revealed Bowery along with Alex Cisak, Callum Kennedy and Tom Parkes have all been transfer listed.

Kennedy, who is the only recognised left-back, has been a consistent player for the O's and would be a huge loss.

It leaves Andy Edwards struggling furthermore after he said last week he had to find a solution from within the club.

Owner Francesco Becchetti reportedly wants to sell the club but the East London Guardian Series understands during a team meeting he still wanted a part.

Things have improved under Edwards since Alberto Cavasin's exit as the O's went unbeaten at Brisbane Road during December.

But it appears this could be another harsh factor the 45-year-old has to face.

It may be the former Academy director will have to turn the Under-18s to try and get them out of the current situation of the senior players are to leave.
