Melborune FC were in fine form on Saturday as they hammered Kitgum Boys 9-1 to reach the quarter-finals of the Essex Alliance League Premier Division Cup.

John Shubert was the star man with a hat-trick while Scott Lincoln (2), Ryan Lincoln, Wayne Matthews and Greg Justham also got on the scoresheet.

The victory sets up a meeting with Grove United in the last eight.

It was a less enjoyable weekend for Chingford Harriers as they crashed out of the Division Two Cup after a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Lymore Gardens.

Dylan Roberts scored twice to add to goals from Mark Morris, Ashley Godwin and Warren Isoka to send Harriers crashing out at the quarter-final stage.

Forest Green were in far better form and cruised to a 6-2 win over Glendale to keep their hopes of a double alive.

In the Division Three Cup, Old Esthamiens Reserves came out on the wrong side of a five goal thriller against Upminster Reserves.

A spirited effort from the visitors saw Alex Booker and Shaun Vickers get on the scoresheet, but Esthamiens still went down to a 3-2 loss.

Kitroom were in action in the County Cup quarter-finals of the Essex Junior Trophy as they look to win the competition for the first time.

Their hopes of doing so were scuppered as they went down to a 7-0 defeat at the hands of St Clere’s.

The Premier Division title race took an interesting twist on Saturday after Jolof Sports ended Chingford Athletic’s unbeaten run.

Athletic came into the match without a single defeat all season, but were no match for Jolof who ran out comfortable 4-1 winners.

Modou Jammeh set the pace for Jolof with a hat-trick before debutant Armel Njonga added a fourth.

Tom Pearce scored the Chingford consolation which mattered little after a strong display from Jolof.

A stunning performance from Chris Stowe was the difference in Division One as Colebrook Royals Reserves eased to a 7-3 win over Sporting Hackney.

Stowe found the net six times to move back to the top of the division’s top scorer charts and give Royals a eight point lead at the summit of the table.

Jordan Childs got the other goal for Royals on a day to forget for Hackney.

It was a similarly depressing Saturday for East Ham International, who went down to a 7-0 loss against Buckhurst Hill.

Jack Miles, Adam Norris and Callum Bloss bagged braces for Hill before Josh Flood added his name to the scoresheet to round off the win.

The goals kept coming in St Francis’ clash with Cowley Community after they were beaten 7-2.

Rodney Capemba and Izzunna Ogedi-Uzokwe both scored hat-tricks and Gideon Odubayo was also on the scoresheet.

Jack Hall and Steven Porter got the goals for St Francis.

Lee Niven’s fine goalscoring form shows little sign of letting up and he bagged another hat-trick in Ferns Seniors 6-2 win over St Johns Deaf.

Kane Green and Sean Howe were also on target as Ferns keep their grip on sixth spot.

In Division Two, Old Barkabbeyas Reserves claimed a potentially vital 3-2 win over Chigwell Rovers.

Will Osmond and Charlie Saywood scored for Rovers, but they were unable to take anything from the match against their relegation rivals.

Finally, Wapping took their unbeaten Division Three run to 13 games with a resounding 6-0 defeat of Wanstead Warriors.

Abdulwahid Zerkouki scored four goals for his side with Fuad Ibrahim and Mohammed Hussain also netting to secure victory and an eight point lead at the top of the table.
