Chingford produced one of the displays of the season to end Tring’s 21-game unbeaten run with a 26-14 victory on Saturday.

Tring have been totally dominant this season and are comfortably clear at the top of the London One North table.

Sitting in third heading into the game Chingford are no pushovers, and showcased as much to move 13-0 ahead after 35 minutes.

A try early in the second half gave them a 20-0 lead and, despite a Tring fightback, Chingford added two more penalties to secure the win.

A resolute North Walsham defence proved too tough for Eton Manor ras they slipped to a narrow 23-18 defeat on Saturday, despite a spirited comeback attempt.

A penalty for the hosts ensured Manor were chasing the game inside the first minute, and their task got even more testing when an eighth minute try extended the Walsham lead to 10-0.

Manor were struggling to deal with their opponents and two more quick scores left them 20-0 down with just 23 minutes on the clock.

While many sides would have accepted their fate at this stage, Manor refused to lie down and hit back when Henry Tustanowswj raced clear to touch down.

The conversion snuck over via the upright and a yellow card for Walsham’s Will Hodgson added further fuel to the Eton fire.

A successful penalty followed by a try from Rhodri Charles took Manor to within one score of Walsham, as they trailed 20-15 at the break.

A far cagier second period followed and both sides added a solitary penalty apiece to leave Manor fifth in the London One North table.

Elsewhere, Epping Upper Clapton enjoyed a 34-24 win over Romford & Gidea Park in the London Two North East.

There were contrasting results for Woodford and Wanstead as the former lost 66-19 to Diss and the latter claimed a comfortable 56-8 win over East London in their London Three North East clash.
