After a “horrible week”, Mark Noble has revealed his delight at helping West Ham United return to winning ways in the Premier League.

The Hammers claimed a 1-0 win over Swansea on Monday to ease fears of being drawn into the relegation fight late in the campaign.

As a lifelong Hammers fan, Noble knows better than most the stresses of following United and spoke of his satisfaction as West Ham earned their first win in six outings.

“To be honest, it’s been a horrible week for me personally because I can never relax,” noble said.

“You never know what is going to happen. I’ve had that feeling in my belly the whole week where I just wanted the game to be over and done with.

“Saturday was fantastic and it was just pure relief.”

The win over Swansea was notable on an individual level for Noble as he brought up his 400th appearance for the Hammers.

He becomes only the 19th player to reach the landmark for the East London club and he is proud to have achieved such a feat with a club close to his heart.

“You don’t really count, you just play every game as it comes and give everything. To have played 400 games for this great club and captain it, obviously is an honour,” he said.

“We have had ups and downs this year, but I’ll always give a million per cent out on the pitch and on Saturday it wasn’t just me, but all of us who dug in and got the three points.”

Noble will have to wait to bring up appearance 401 after picking up a 10th yellow card of the season against Swansea.

The subsequent suspension may stop the 29-year-old playing, but he will still make the trip to Wearside with the rest of the squad.

“I’ll be going up with them, for sure,” Noble said. “I wouldn’t be able to relax otherwise. My Saturday would be the worst Saturday in history if I didn’t go.

“I need to be there, so I’m sure the manager will be happy with me travelling up with the lads and supporting them, because obviously we’re in this together.”
