After two wins on the spin, Leyton Orient were brought crashing back down to earth with a 6-1 defeat against Bromley on Tuesday night.

The O's were four down just after the hour mark as goals from George Porter, Jack Holland, Josh Rees and Adam Mekki gave the hosts a deserved advantage.

Macualey Bonne hit back for the O's but a second from Holland and further effort from Brett Williams killed any hopes of an unlikely fight back.

The defeat is Orient's second on the bounce from two away games this term and sees them slip to 11th in the National League table.

Bromley started brightly and were ahead with just 11 minutes on the clock after a sweeping move ended with Porter heading beyond Grainger.

Holland made it two shortly before half-time as the Bromley captain eluded his marker at a corner and headed home.

The goal took the stuffing out of Orient and they were cut further adrift just 10 minutes after the restart.

On this occasion Grainger did well to stop the hosts initial effort, only to see Rees turn ion the rebound from close range.

A fine run from the impressive Louis Dennis yielded the fourth as he set up Mekki who fired in emphatically.

Orient grabbed a consolation with 66 minutes played when Bonne notched his first goal for the club.

The strike only served to inspire greater attacking endeavour from Bromley and Holland restored the four goal advantage soon after.

The O's misery was complete with two minutes remaining when Williams grabbed the Bromley sixth on a chastening day for the E10 club.

Steve Davis side will look to lift themselves in time for the visit to Woking on Saturday.

Orient head into the match ahead of Woking, who beat Eastleigh 2-1 on Tuesday night, in the league on goal difference alone.
