Ruel Sotiriou has signed a two-year contract with Leyton Orient, tying him to the club until the summer of 2020.

The deal is the 17-year-old’s first as a professional and comes in the wake of a breakthrough season in which he made his debut in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie with Dagenham & Redbridge.

Having put pen to paper on the contract, Sotiriou was understandably delighted.

He told the club website: “Buzzing to get a new contract, I’ve been at the Club for four years now and I’m pleased to have pushed on and got my first professional contract.

“I’m aiming to get more minutes under my belt next season and score goals for this football club.

“The gaffer is very demanding and great to work under, so I’m looking forward to learning lots from him”.

Elsewhere Sam Sargeant has signed a new deal to remain at Brisbane Road, but Ebou Adams will be leaving the club after not agreeing a new deal.
