Step back in time this weekend, as Epping hosts its annual festival – but with a vintage twist.

Marking the centenary anniversary of the First World War and the 70th anniversary of the Second World War, visitors are invited to attend Epping Festival in costumes from the 1914-1920s or 1940s eras.

If you think you’ve got the winning look, enter the festival’s costume competition, with prizes up-for-grabs for the best male and female attire and best boy and girl children's outfits.

There will also be retro make-up, hairstyling and mini-manicures from The Beauty Queens, resident columnists with Vintage Magazine.

If that wasn’t enough to whet your appetite, there will be plenty of entertaining activities on offer throughout the day including music from the likes of the Funky Voices, exhibitions and a market with handmade and vintage goods for sale.

There will be chances to climb aboard the Tresor Paris bus, marvel at Epping Ongar Railway’s Supercar and Copped Hall’s Rolls Royce, and explore a number of vintage military vehicles.

Visitors will also be able to take in the marvellous views from the top of St John’s Church tower and for anyone who has ever wanted to learn to fish – now’s your chance – The Hemnall Social Club is opening its fishing lake in Hartland Road and teaching any budding anglers.

Various locations, Saturday, July 26, from 10am.
