For this year’s Appetite, the folks at Bestowed Kitchen will provide lunchboxes made with fresh ingredients from local suppliers. You’ll also get a side of limited edition artwork. Order your box by midday on the Thursday before each trail weekend and your lunchbox will be ready to pick up from The Mill or Walthamstow Library. Vegetarian and gluten-free options available.

  • Kids Kitchen presents: Family Feast!
    Got an inquisitive, creative toddler? Want new ways to excite their minds and tastebuds?
    Head over to Peterhouse Community Centre where Mister Maker will meet Masterchef. You, along with your little one, will be able to try your hand at creating a delicious vegetarian from scratch, using local and organic ingredients. Once the hard graft is out of the way, break bread with other families.

  • A Walthamstow Wander
    Join tour guide Joanna Moncrieff on this predominantly food and drink themed walk around Walthamstow. Lifelong Waltham Forest resident Joanna will talk in depth about how Walthamstow’s pubs have evolved over time, and you’ll also get the opportunity to  discover traces of the food shops and off licences which used to fill the neighbourhood. See what impact the introduction of the railway had on what was originally a sleepy country town and where commuter houses were built on former watercress beds. The walk will include a stop or two at some foodie places along the way.

  • Small Plates, Small Habits, Cocktails, Tapas & Art
    This special opening night at the Hornbeam Centre will feature the launch of a new exhibition of small mixed works by the local community: People’s habits – good, bad, old, new, ones they want to shout about or to keep very quiet.
    Food and cocktails by Norman Loves. The event is also part of the We Love Low Cost Living Campaign.

    This event will showcase the tastes and talents of local designers, makers, artisans and gourmet food producers – all with a male slant.   • 15 Day Forest at 56 
    For this Appetite pop up, artists Alex Cunningham and Andy Macgregor have created a Matisse-inspired paper forest installation. Pop down and help fill the cafe with lush paper leaves and watch the forest grow. Help is on hand and leaf templates and paper provided.
