A selection of outstanding films are set to be shown at a pop-up cinema in Walthamstow.

Top picks include Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom (12A) and Malik Bendjelloul’s Searching for Sugar Man (12A), to play on Monday, January 14 and Friday, January 18 respectively. Set in 1965, Moonrise Kingdom tells the story of two 12-year-olds who fall in love and make a secret pact to run away together into the wilderness. Wes Anderson had been away from live-action film making for half a decade come the release of Moonrise Kingdom in 2012.

Sugar Man relays the tale of a late ‘60s musician, Rodriguez, who disappeared into obscurity amid rumours of a gruesome on-stage suicide. Both films will be shown at Stow Film Lounge, the Orford House Social Club, Orford Road, Walthamstow.
