A UNIQUE collection of books, scrolls, topography, 3D sculpture, printed text, printmaking and word-inspired art will be on display at the Words over Waltham Forest Festival.

For the past few months, schools and learning disability groups across the area have been contributing to the exhibition which will be unveiled at Walthamstow Library during the festival this October.


The expansive collection of artwork, entitled This is Me, explores the key themes of identity and diversity within the Walthamstow community. 
Exhibiting schools and groups include: Willowfield Humanities College, Sir George Monoux Sixth Form College,  Edinburgh Primary School, Chingford Foundation School, Learning Disability Experience Over 50’s, Monday Night Club, Saturday Kids’ Club and Kaleidoscope.
 

It will also feature spoken word performances from students. Performers include Cat Brogan (spoken word educator, Lammas and Buxton Schools), Creating a Buzzdrama students from George Mitchell School and music students from Rushcroft Foundation School.
 

The event is being organised by Waltham Forest Arts in Education Network (WFAEN) and the Learning Disability Experience (LDX) and will take place on Friday, October 25.
