The Barbican OpenFest is back this Saturday with a free day of art and entertainment, as well as market stalls by Walthamstow-based E17 Designers.
Starting at 10am, the day will be filled with interactive dance, pop-up theatre, tours of the building and an array of art installations at The Barbican Centre, which is on Silk Street.
The E17 stalls will be open from 12 noon till 7.30pm, with a selection of high quality, hand-picked and handmade items, from art prints and illustrations, fashion wear, ceramics, accessories and more, which have all been created by designer-makers from in and around Walthamstow.
The E17 Designers group started up in Walthamstow in June 2006, after a group of six locals set up tables in the village square to sell scarves, bags, cushions and children’s clothes.
Now they take part in many events across east London each year, including the E17 Art Trail and the Walthamstow Garden Party.
