Crouch End Festival co-founder Chris Arnold will be performing at the event as part of Mathemusial.

It was created especially for the festival, and he describes it as "experimental and jazzy”.

“The irony is that isn't not really a musical, we have a couple of singers but it's more of a musical event.”

He will be playing guitar and synth guitar with his Perrinormal, with Kevin Perry on percussion and Joe Perry on bass.

The Crouch End band is on of the UK’s leading plunderphonics group, taking well-known tracks and re-writing them until the original has been completely obscured.

Talented musicians including cellist Kate Shortt, keyboardist Hayden Parsey, clarinet player Catherine Arnold, saxophonist Dave Eastham and ukele player Chris Mead will also be on stage, alongside dancer and singer Avi Esther Shekinah.

Chris says: “We have a lot of good musicians in the area but wanted to do something that pushes the creative boundaries and attracted avant garde musicians to come along.”

Tracks have been created using maths, with one linking prime numbers to musical notes and another based on Pi.

“It will be interesting sounding but not crazy where you sit and wonder ‘what’s going on?’” says Chris.

The two-hour event will also include performances from support bands Luminous Frenzy and Strange Deed Trio.
