Drake has had to pull out of headlining Wireless this weekend after falling ill.

The singer was due to take to the stage at Finsbury Park on Saturday night and also at the sister event in Birmingham on Friday night.

In a statement he says: "To my beloved fans, it truly breaks my heart that I won't be able to perform as planned at Wireless and Roskilde this weekend.

"I got sick a few days ago and although I am on my way to bouncing back, my doctors have made it clear that I am not physically fit to fly or deliver the performance my fans expect and deserve from me.

"I will be focused on resting for a quick recovery. I have the best fans in the world and I can't wait to come back to make more incredible memories together."

Kanye West has stepped in to fill the slot and will now headline the urban pop music festival on Friday and Saturday in London.

Rudimental will play an extended set in Birmingham with special guests to fill the void.

Festival organisers, Live Nation have confirmed all three days of Wireless Festival will go ahead as planned in both London and Birmingham.

There are still tickets left for the London festival which will be headlined by Bruno Mars on Sunday.
