There will be plenty to celebrate over in Wanstead this weekend, as there‘s a festival being held in the park.

Organisers of Music in Wanstead Park 2014 are promising lots of family fun and, of course, music at this popular event.

Providing the tunes at this year‘s show are soul and funksters Payback, Wanstead Rock Choir, Richard Henry Sousaphone, funk fusionists Groove Traders, gritty beatboxers The East Collective, folky folks Georgia and the Dales, and Wanstead High School Big Band and Rock Bands.

Also performing on the night is Iroko Theatre, who will take guests on a cultural extravaganza with their African beats, and there will be a ukulele and Iroko drumming workshops.

Further activities available on the day include a range of sports such as Rollapaluza bike racing, space ball and football shootouts, as well as Circo Rum Ba Ba Dress Circle Theatre Show, Morris dancing performances, and a visit from Snakey Sue‘s live snakers.

To ensure you‘re kept nourished throughout the day, there will be plenty of refreshments on offer such as curries, barbecued food, vintage teas, a waffle stand, a beer and wine tent, and veggie fare.

Music in Wanstead Park is on Saturday, July 19, 2pm until 9pm. Details: aldersbook.info
