The Queen’s Theatre is set to launch its new autumn season with a European premiere of Gunmetal Blues, a sharp comedy-musical murder mystery, never before seen outside the US and Canada.
The show comes live from the Red Eye Lounge, where piano player Buddy Toupee leads us on a voyage of murder, mystery and music. In a world of smoke and mirrors, shadows and shattered dreams, Sam Galahad is on a desperate search for a missing blonde as he struggles to solve who killed the corrupt city tycoon Adrian Wasp.
Was it Carol Indigo, the party girl with the big secret? Or Laura Vesper, the woman with a past? Or was it a mysterious bag lady called the Princess?
Will Sam break the case before the crooked cops and the bad guys break him? Will he find the love he thought he’d lost?
This unique event is augmented by a tremendous jazz and blues score.
The Queen’s Theatre, Billet Lane, Hornchurch, RM11 1QT, from Friday, August 29 until September 20. Details: 01708 443333, queens-theatre.co.uk
