Personal Overview - Comes from a political family (his father was Bob Cryer (deceased) former MP for Bradford South until 1994), his mother (Ann) is MP for Keighley. He is a member of the Co-operative Party, and is likely to tend more to the centre left in the Labour Party. He has had journalistic experience and will therefore have some familiarity with the media and in his first parliamentary spell was an active campaigner on local issues. He lost his Hornchurch seat at the 2005 election, re-entering Parliament in 2010 after working as a political officer for ASLEF (Train Drivers Union) and Unite (the largest UK Union) in the intervening period.

Previous Occupation - Financial Director of a family business (pan-European).

Personal Overview - Elected to the European Parliament from third place on the London Conservative Party list. Has been involved running a small business for over 23 years with experience negotiating in in Europe on behalf of her UK clients. She has campaigned to reduce regulation on business, reducing EU waste and fraud and on the sensible managing of migration. She also has experience raising funds for charity, as a former Chair of the Mayor of Barnet's Charity Appeal 2005/06 raising money for the mental health charity MIND.
