Spurs target Kameni heading for Espanyol exit

SPURS could be free to sign Espanyol's Carlos Kameni after the Catalan club signed another keeper.

Boss Juande Ramos has been heavily linked with a move for the Cameroon international as he seeks a replacement for Paul Robinson and Radek Cerny, who joined QPR yesterday.

Kameni (pictured) is also believed to be attracting the interest of Manchester United.

And - after Espanyol completed the signing of 22-year-old Argentinian stopper Cristian Alvarez from Rosario Central - Kameni's four-year stay at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys looks to be over.

However, his availability is still in question: it remains to be seen whether it will be the 24-year-old or veteran stopper Inaki Lafuente who makes way for Alvarez.

"We need to have two first team goalkeepers and he (Alvarez) is one of them," said Espanyol sporting director Paco Herrera.

"He will have to work hard to earn a regular place in the squad, but from what we know of him he is a very good goalkeeper. "
