ARSENAL TALK: Agent claims Adebayor not in it for the money

9:19am Thursday 3rd July 2008

EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR'S agent has claimed his client is not 'greedy' and that Arsenal should make more of an effort to hang on to their star striker.

The Togo international has been frequently linked with a move away from the Emirates, with AC Milan and Barcelona the front-runners to land him.

Adebayor is also reported to have demanded an incredible 400 per cent wage increase to keep him in north London.

But his agent, Stephane Courbis, has insisted that his client is not in it for the money - otherwise he would have already left.

"It is vital that Arsenal show their motivation to keep him," Courbis told the Daily Star.

"There has been a love story between Adebayor and Arsenal and his relationship with Arsene Wenger is based on trust and respect.

"If this was a money problem, then he would have asked to leave.

"He is a man of heart, not of money. He is not greedy."
