Council to show support to Armed Forces

SUPPORT of the Armed Forces will be shown after the council has entered into an agreement which will recognise and remember the sacrifices they made to the community.

Last night at cabinet, the council agreed to enter into the Armed Forces Community Covenant.

The covenant is a statement of mutual support between the community and the Armed Forces.

It aims to encourage communities to support their Armed Forces and in return encourage the Armed Forces to support their wider communities by taking part in events and projects.

Final arrangements are now taking place before the agreement is finalised.

sensibility says...

about time too.

Armed forces used to have stalls at summer events on Chestnut Field behind the stadium.

We should support those prepared to fight and die for our country and for us.
