BURGLARS made off with war medals after breaking into an elderly couple’s home.

The couple, who are in their 80s, woke up on Wednesday morning (November 8) to find their home in Redbridge Lane East, Redbridge, had been ransacked.

The burglars made off with three medals, a Sony digital camera and items of costume jewellery.

Police said the intruders gained access through a door which the couple had left unlocked.
