POLICE are offering cyclists the chance to have their bikes security marked for free in Walthamstow this Wednesday (November 28).

Officers from Waltham Forest's Safer Transport Team will be on hand outside Coasta Coffee in Walthamstow Town Square for the service between 8am and 12pm, and again from 4pm to 6pm.

It is part of the Met's London-wide 'operation Madone'.

Security markings allow bikes to be identified and their correct owner found if they are subsequently lost or stolen.

No appointment is necessary.
