FLOOD alerts are still in place in for areas surrounding the River Roding after water levels were expected to peak this morning.
The Environment Agency has warned that the water level is likely to remain high throughout all of Wednesday in the lower section of the river after growing steadily all day yesterday before a peak was predicted to hit this morning.
However, no homes in Wanstead or Woodford are expected to be affected due to dry weather today, though motorists are warned that roads near the river may be impacted.
Nearer the middle of the river, the authority has said some gardens could be flooded but homes in Abridge, Loughton and Buckhurst Hill should not suffer.
The river level in this section of the river was predicted to drop this morning.
This is the sixth day running that the River Roding has been on flood alert.
