Toddler hit by car in Markhouse Road, Walthamstow

A TODDLER was injured after being hit by a car.

The three-year-old girl was run over in Markhouse Road, Walthamstow, at around 12.50pm today (Wednesday November 28).

Police say the car involved did not initially stop at the scene but did return a short while later.

The girl was rushed to hospital where she remains.

Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening or life changing.

There are no reports of any arrests.

The road was closed for a short while near the scene of the crash, in Acacia Road, while police investigated.

A Met spokesman said: "Enquiries are ongoing".
