FLOOD alerts remain in place on the middle and lower parts of the River Roding.

The Environment Agency has kept the river on flood alert after heavy rainfall earlier in the week in the upper part of the river through Ongar and Stapleford has caused the river level to remain high.

The agency has warned low lying land and roads through Wanstead and Woodford could be affected by minor flooding and standing water.

The river around Abridge remains out of its bank in places and this is having an impact on drainage ditches which may cause problems further away from the river.

Gardens near to the river in Buckhurst Hill, Loughton and Abridge may be also affected by minor flooding and standing water, but properties in both areas should not be affected.

The river has now been on flood alert for a week.
