A NEW website has been launched to promote tourism in the district.

The site lists attractions such as the Essex Way walkers' trail, Copped Hall and Greensted Church, the oldest made from wood in the world, as places to go, alongside local shops and Epping Forest.

Maps of places to eat, drink and stay are also listed on the site, visiteppingforest.org.

The site has been set up by the groups behind some of the area’s attractions and is supported by Epping Forest District Council and Epping Forest Chamber of Commerce.

UKIP-local says...

Just think, when the coalition gets its way, the walkers along these routes will be able to stop off at innumerable places to get a burger or visit a show home on one of the new estates they plan in the countryside.

And EFDC is playing its part by planning 10,200 additional homes, mainly in the Green Belt. Do we think visitors will still want to come when the rape of the area's openness and beauty has been accomplished?
