PARISH councillors are asking residents concerned about the future of North Weald Airfield to make their voices heard.

North Weald Parish Council has written to locals informing them that the district council is in the process of appointing consultants to deliver a review of the site.

The firm appointed will be required to consult the parish council as part of their brief.

But councillors say discussion with the community will only be undertaken as part of the Local Plan consultation process in summer 2013.

They are therefore looking to gather residents' views on whether they wish to see the site used for industry, housing, leisure, aviation - or something entirely different.

People can offer their opinions to parish councillors and staff at North Weald Village Hall from 10.30am to 12pm on February 2 and 9.

Those unable to attend can also contact the parish office by calling 01992 523825 or emailing clerk@northweald-pc.gov.uk.
