REVELLERS in need of a break from turkey sandwiches and television repeats can enjoy a mince pie in the peace of a steam-heated train carriage.

The Epping Ongar Railway is bringing its latest acquisition - an 80-tonne 4141 tank - into service on from December 27 to 30 for its mince pie specials.

A one-off timetable will be in operation between Ongar and North Weald and mince pies will be served up to each visitor.

Tickets are valid all day and can also be used on heritage buses running from Epping High Street and the Underground station.

The mince pie journeys will be the last chance to board the heritage railway until Easter, when passenger services will begin again.
