A FLOOD warning has been issued for the River Roding at Abridge after yesterday's heavy rain.

River levels peaked above the threshold for the Environment Agency's second highest alert at midnight last night, meaning flooding is expected.

In a statement this morning, the agency said water levels were now slowly falling, but were likely to remain high throughout the day.

More heavy rain is expected this evening and overnight.

Flood alerts have also been issued for the lower, middle and upper Roding around Redbridge, Woodford, Wanstead, Ongar, Fyfield, High Ongar, Stapleford, Loughton and Buckhurst Hill.
