YOUNG people were awarded for helping their communities at a ceremony earlier this week.
More than 100 young people from boroughs including Waltham Forest received certificates signed by Prime Minister David Cameron for completing a government scheme on Monday, December 17.
The 16 and 17-year-olds had graduated from a National Citizen Service course which aims to help social and personal development by encouraging teenagers to volunteer to help others in their communities.
They also took part in team building exercises and personal development which could be anything from rock-climbing to kayaking over the summer course.
The graduation ceremony at Deloitte in Farringdon was attended by Big Brother winner John Loughton as well as Olympic poet Fope Jegede and comic Oli Betteworth.
