HUNDREDS of people came to Moreton for the annual tug-of-war competition between two pubs.
For more than 20 years the Nag's Head has taken on the nearby White Hart in a Boxing Day tug-of-war across the Cripsey Brook.
However, although this year the teams had no snow to contend with, the stream was so swollen that safety concerns lead to the event being moved to drier land in an adjacent field.
Despite the set back, the competition otherwise carried on as normal, with the winners being the White Hart team.
The fun got underway at midday with an afternoon of It’s a Knock Out-style contests involving races, beer-downing and apple-bobbing in the streets of the village.
