MORE than 1,000 people attended the 10th anniversary of a town centre carol service.
Carols on the green off Epping High Street were led by the choir and band of St John’s School in the town as people braved the threat of rain to celebrate the season.
Mark Harvey, of the Rotary Club of Epping Forest, which organised the event, said: “Both Rotary clubs in Epping would like to thank the people of the town for attending.
“It was a tremendous achievement to have over 1,000 people there in the soggy conditions.
“We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.”
Money towards schools in and around the town was collected during the service.
