SCOOTER enthusiasts have surpassed their fundraising target for a charity ride.
The Foresters Scooter Club raised £250 - £150 more than they had hoped for – by journeying to the West End and back today (Thursday).
The 25 motors took two hours to reach Leicester Square before returning home to The County Arms in Hale End Road, Highams Park, where a raffle was also held for Haven House Children’s Hospice in Woodford Green.
Club member George Jay, 46, who made the journey on his vintage Vespa, said: “It was fantastic, we did very well to raise that much money.
“The ride was fun if a little bit cold and wet, and the pub helped us get over our target. It feels brilliant to have raised this much for a great cause.”
