LOW fuel prices and improving literacy will be priorities for MP Robert Halfon in 2013, he has said.
The MP for Hastingwood, the Matchings, Nazeing and Roydon has pledged in a New Year message to push the Office of Fair Trading to hold an inquiry into the role of oil companies in influencing fuel prices.
He added: “In 2013, I would like to do more work on literacy and for this reason I have been elected chairman of the all-party literacy group in Parliament.
“I do a special Reading with Rob around schools, reading to children and talking to them about books, especially The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, my favourite childhood book.
“I want to do a lot more Reading with Rob activities.”
