School pupils play a staring role in an internet promotional video for this year's Holocaust Memorial Day.

Children from Leytonstone Business and Enterprise Specialist School in Colworth Road were chosen for the 'Lessons Learnt?' video to represent people of a variety of ethnicities respecting each other's differences.

The clip, produced by the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, has been viewed nearly 100 times since it was posted on website YouTube.

It ties in with the official theme of this year's event, which is 'Communities Together: Build a Bridge'.

Olivia Marks-Woldman, chief executive of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, explained: “This year, on Holocaust Memorial Day [on Sunday January 27], we are asking everyone to build a bridge within their community.

"Whole communities were destroyed during the Holocaust and subsequent genocides so this year we are urging people to reach out to those around them to help put an end to injustice, hatred and genocide.

"As we approach Holocaust Memorial Day 2013, we hope the film will capture people’s attention and encourage them to visit our website to make an online action and build their bridge.”
