A website promoting independent trade in the district now lists 250 businesses.
The One Shops Local site was set up in December 2011 using money from Epping Forest District Council and is run by the district’s Chamber of Commerce.
It lists independent businesses by category, such as food and drink, and gives people the chance to review them.
John Price, chairman of The Epping Forest Chamber of Commerce, said: “It’s great to be celebrating our 250th registration so quickly.”
Kate Towerzey, who runs the About My Area website for Waltham Abbey, was the 250th trader to sign up.
