Redbridge Libraries Big Red Read competition gives bookworms the chance to discover, read and vote on new books

Bookworms are invited to choose their favourite books from a list of new titles available to loan from Redbridge’s libraries.

The Big Red Read 2013 gives library users the chance to discover and enjoy 30 books, reading as many as they like before voting for their favourites.

There are three categories: fiction, non fiction and quick reads, and anyone who wants to take part has until May 7 to cast their vote.

As part of the event there will be a readers' evening at Wanstead Library in Spratt Hall Road on March 19, where people can discuss the books.

The winning authors will be presented with awards at a red carpet event at Fullwell Cross Library in Barkingside on May 24.

To find out more visit your local library and pick up a booklet containing a synopsis of all this year’s books and a voting form.

All the nominated titles should be available in your library, but if the book you wish to read is out on loan your librarian will reserve it for you.
