A charity raised £450 with a prize draw for a four-course meal cooked in the winner’s home.
Chef Paul Thorogood, who is based at Theydon Bois Golf Club, donated his time to the Buckhurst Parkinson’s Support Group and cooked the meal in the home of Terry Rummins, who has just published a book called So I’ve Got Parkinson’s Disease.
Mr Thorogood cooked lemon chicken soup, a salad with bacon and olives, guinea fowl and a chocolate desert.
Derek Lester, who helped organise the draw, said: “The four diners thought it was a wonderful experience, particularly as they enjoyed five star food and service and didn’t even have to wash up.”
