Residents are invited to attend a traditional wassailing this weekend.
The ancient ceremony, which is held to wish good luck to apple trees and their owners, takes place in the orchard behind the Ferry Boat Inn by Walthamstow reservoirs off Forest Road.
It is this Saturday from 5.30pm.
There will be entertainment from the Blackhorse and Standard Morris dancers, singing, a toast to the trees and a period of noise-making where residents are urged to make a din to scare off evil spirits.
Organiser Katy Andrews, of the New Lammas Lands Defence Committee, said it was the first wassailing in the area in living memory.
