Consultations have been launched on plans to increase the capacity of two primary schools.
Under the proposals Thorpe Hall Primary School in Hale End Road, Walthamstow, will get an extra form of entry, while Barclay Primary School in Canterbury Road, Leyton, would get two.
Thorpe Hall would take on the extra class at its current site but Barclay would expand by using part of the council's Chestnuts House site in Hoe Street, Walthamstow.
The plans are designed to help ease the borough's shortage of school places.
The council estimates that in Walthamstow and Leyton alone there will be a shortage of 134 primary places in 2015/16 unless schools take on extra pupils.
If the proposals are approved the number of children admitted at reception level at Thorpe Hall would increase from 60 to 90 in September 2014.

The consultation closes on February 15.
The proposals for Barclay Primary, which became an academy last September, would result in the number of children admitted at reception level to increase from 120 to 180 in September 2014.
