The Met is to hold a "roadshow" public consultation event in Walthamstow next month on plans for its future, which include an increase in the number of police officers but a cut in the number of stations.
It takes place at Waltham Forest Assembly Hall in Forest Road on Wednesday February 20 at 6pm.
Places must be booked in advance by registering at www.london.gov.uk/policingevents
Earlier this month the Met announced proposals to close Leytonstone's Waltham Way Police Station and the Safer Neighbourhood Team office in Walthamstow High Street, while also confirming the sale of stations in Leyton and Walthamstow.
But it said the borough would be allocated 119 new officers, taking the size of the force up to 642 by 2015.
