A campaign group is holding a series of events this weekend to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.

We Are Waltham Forest, which was established last year in protest at a march by the far-right English Defence League (EDL) through Walthamstow, is organising the 'Never Again' festival.

On Saturday the Vestry House Museum in Walthamstow Village hosts a talk and performance by Will Kaufman, an expert on anti-fascist folk legend Woody Guthrie.

It takes place at 3pm and costs £6.

In the evening, Ye Olde Rose and Crown pub in Hoe Street, Walthamstow, will host a concert of local musicians and poets.

Acts include Steve White and the Protest Family, Graham Larkbey and the Escape Committee and Somaye.

Doors open at 7.30pm and it costs £10, or £5 for concessions.

On Sunday a series of talks on the rise of the far-right in Europe will be held at The Mill Community Centre in Coppermill Lane, Walthamstow.

It takes place from 2pm to 3.30pm, followed by an illustrated lecture on how the Nazi Holocaust has been remembered through music and poetry.

Martin Smith, of the Love Music Hate Racism group, will deliver the talk, which will run from 4pm to 6pm.
